Job Title: Cloud and Infrastructure Lead
Job Summary: A Cloud and Infrastructure Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and securing an organization's cloudand on-premise IT infrastructure. They ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure resources whileleading a team of engineers or system administrators.
Preferred Experience:
7+ years in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership position
Hands-on experience in cloud architecture, systems administration, and network management
Experience managing large-scale cloud migration or infrastructure modernization projects
Domain expertise in the industry (e.g., fintech, edtech/skilling, health-tech, e-commerce, government) is advantageous
Main responsibilities inter-alia include
Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure across cloud (AWS, Azure,GCP) and on-premise environments; Develop and maintain infrastructure strategy, aligning with organizational goals and digitaltransformation plans.
Cloud Management: Lead migration to cloud platforms and manage multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments; Optimize cloud usage(cost, performance, compliance) and manage cloud service providers.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor infrastructure and DevOps teams; Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely projectdelivery.
System Operations & Monitoring: Oversee uptime, capacity, backups, and disaster recovery; Implement and manage monitoring,alerting, and logging solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus).
Security & Compliance: Ensure systems follow organizational and regulatory security practices; Implement identity and accessmanagement, firewall rules, and compliance policies.
Automation & DevOps: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation; SupportCI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage third-party service providers, software licenses, and procurement; Collaborate withproduct, application, and security teams to deliver infrastructure solutions.
Required Skills:
Cloud Platforms: Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP
Infrastructure Management: Linux/Windows Servers, storage, networking, DNS, firewalls
Tools & Frameworks: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Git
Monitoring & Logging: ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
Security: IAM, network security, encryption, VPNs, firewalls
Strong knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and ITIL practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Educational Qualification:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
2. Certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, CCNA/CCNP, RHCE, or CISSP are highly valued
